App: Camera Scanner
Last Updated: March 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Camera Scanner ("we", "our", or "us")
handles information when you use our mobile application and related services.
Camera Scanner is designed to help users identify devices on a Wi-Fi network,
scan nearby Bluetooth devices, use electromagnetic and flash-based detection tools,
run network tests, and view device information.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on the features you use, we may process the following categories of information:
- Feedback information you choose to submit, including text, screenshots, and images.
- Local network scan data, such as Wi-Fi SSID, local IP information, Bonjour service names, host names, device names, open ports, protocol fingerprints, and scan timestamps.
- Bluetooth scan data, such as nearby device names, identifiers exposed by the operating system, device type clues, and signal strength.
- Electromagnetic sensor readings from your device while the electromagnetic scan feature is active.
- Camera preview data while the flash scan feature is active.
- Device and app information such as app version, OS version, device model, language, and settings necessary to run and improve the app.
- Speed test and connectivity information, such as latency, upload speed, download speed, and connection status.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the app's core scanning, testing, and device-inspection features.
- To display scan results, scan history, and device-related insights inside the app.
- To respond to support or feedback requests that you send us.
- To maintain app security, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights, users, and services.
3. Permissions and Sensitive Access
Camera Scanner may request the following permissions:
- Camera: used for the flash scan feature and live reflection inspection.
- Photo Library: used only when you choose to attach images or screenshots in feedback.
- Bluetooth: used to scan nearby Bluetooth devices and estimate signal strength.
- Local Network: used to discover and identify devices on your current Wi-Fi network.
- Location / Nearby network access: may be required by the operating system to display your connected Wi-Fi name; we do not use this permission for precise location tracking.
- Motion / Sensor access: used for electromagnetic detection features.
4. On-Device Processing and Storage
Many Camera Scanner features work primarily on your device. Scan history and certain
temporary results may be stored locally on your device so you can review previous scans.
Camera preview data used for flash detection is intended to be processed on-device unless
you explicitly submit related content through a feedback channel.
5. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share limited information only in the following situations:
- With service providers that help us operate support, hosting, or connectivity-related functions.
- When you ask us to process a request, such as sending feedback or loading external web content.
- When required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or transfer of assets, subject to applicable law.
6. Data Retention
- Scan history saved on your device is generally retained until you clear the app data, delete the app, or remove that history through available controls.
- Feedback submissions and support records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, investigate, and improve our services.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information.
However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot
guarantee absolute security.
